Company Background
Greenlight Planet (GLP) is striving to be the best place to work, ever. Greenlight Planet is an organization of passionate professionals focused on empowering millions of Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP) families with simple, smart and honest technology and true market innovation. They are passionate about changing the world on an unprecedented scale, working with fantastically talented teammates to tackle the world’s most challenging problems and having fun, as a team, while doing it.
Greenlight Planet’s mission is to replace dirty, dangerous and expensive kerosene lanterns used by two billion off-grid people at night in Asia and Africa. The company’s products are designed from the ground up to meet the needs of price-sensitive off-grid consumers.
Life for families change once Sun King™ products enter the home: children can study at night, breadwinners can extend their income earning hours, and carcinogenic fumes are eliminated. Within months of displaced kerosene consumption, the Sun King has entirely paid for itself and families enjoy a net savings for years and years.
Greenlight Planet is developing truly innovative distribution, financial and partnership models to reach even the most isolated, price-sensitive families around the globe.
